Myself, Malcolm and Kazia outside RendleshamRadio.Com. The sun was so bright it took all our effort to stop squinting for a few seconds!
Exposing Flaws in Our Mainstream Education
Kazia and I spent a really lovely afternoon chatting to Malcolm Clark about his time working with disillusioned youngsters who weren’t engaging with school. It opened his eyes to some of the flaws in our current mainstream education and exposed how regulated things become when schools get involved in well-meaning, successful community projects.
The show goes out on RendleshamRadio.com tonight and then at 3 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I’m sorry I think I’m too late for tonight – oops!!
Doing What We Love
Malcolm Clark is an amazing example of someone who has always done what he’s loved. After the breakdown of his first marriage his life took a slightly different path in that he started really contributing to his community whilst still doing what he really loved.
Creating Local Charities
Education is at the core of our talk with him but we also talked about his charity called SECH which includes Club 70. This is aimed at people in or around their 70s who still want to use all the knowledge they learnt in their working life. They have many projects they are considering – one is buying a pub and utilising everyone’s skills in running it. Amazing idea and even if they don’t achieve it it gives us all something to think about.
Enjoy the interview and thanks again to Malcolm for all his support
