Our first public talk is now on YouTube with another talk coming up this Sunday.

We are looking forward to this event next Sunday and are so grateful to be invited to talk at this wonderful event.

How to create a parallel, more empowered system

While we were at the FreeMind Festival we were very lucky as Luke Magnay recorded our debut talk. Three months later we’ve finally managed to get it onto YouTube. We must never forget that creating a parallel system that runs alongside our current one is all in our hands. We can take control of every aspect of our life – if we want to.

More guests on our RendleshamRadio.com show

Ever thought that there’s something lacking in our education system but not known what to do about it? Kazia and Zlatuse are two great examples of women who took the power into their own hands when it came to their children’s future. When Zlatuse, from Czech Republic, fell pregnant with their first child Darren Deojee was adamant he/she would be home educated. Four children later it hasn’t been without its challenges – financial and emotional.

Being In Your Element

A passion for outdoor learning led Kazia, the other co-founder of Joinavision and a single mum of two, and Zlatuse felt there was a need for outdoor spaces where families could gather on a weekly basis. A conversation with Zlatuse’s landlord showed that he felt the same. A few months later, as well as lots of hard work, and Being In Your Element was born.

Barefoot and Free

The children are encouraged to experience what it’s like to be barefoot in the woods. Rubber soles on our shoes disconnect us from the ground and reduce our capacity to feel that connection with our planet. You won’t see many children with shoes on here but none complain or go home with thorns or splinters in their feet. For more information please click on their Face Book page.

Spaces are Filling Fast for Our Christmas Event

Spaces at our Christmas event are filling fast. We have some great talks, workshops and a really exciting new children’s area. Local people have come forwards offering a dance class, story telling, craft making and a movement workshop for all ages. We feel very privileged to be surrounded by so many generous people.

Book Choice

Think some children are born with a silver spoon in their mouths? Born into a life of privilege and prestige? Often these children are sent to boarding school and separated from the families they loved and trusted. This book delves deeply into the trauma experienced by children as young as seven sent away to these schools and and how they came to be in existence.

Our guest on RendleshameRadio.com next week, Mel, will be talking about her experiences of boarding school from the age of 8-16 years and how she has come to terms with what she went through.

To get more of an insight into this incredible book please look at the reviews on Amazon.

All You Need to Know about Chickweed

The many uses for chickweed – for dogs and humans

Image result for chickweed

The whole plant, except the roots, is delicious. Eaten raw, it tastes like corn-on-the-cob, or like cornsilk. Cooked, it’s more like spinach. Always chop the entire plant, except the roots, into bite-sized pieces before using it. The plant has medicinal properties and has been used as a remedy to treat itchy skin conditions and pulmonary diseases. The 17th-century herbalist John Gerard recommended it as a remedy for mange. Modern herbalists prescribe it for iron-deficiency anemia (for its high iron content), as well as for skin diseases, bronchitis, rheumatic pains, arthritis and period pain. (Note: Not all of these uses are supported by scientific evidence.) The plant was used by the Ainu for treating bruises and aching bones. Stems were steeped in hot water before being applied externally to affected areas.

Dogs love chickweed too.

Dogs love the taste of chickweed and because it’s packed with so many nutrients, using this plant is makes a lot of sense. It can be used internally and externally and treats everything from skin burns to digestive maladies. We recommend chickweed for dogs as a diuretic and as a treatment for skin problems.

Chickweed can relieve skin problems for dogs and be used as a diuretic.
