Our face is the one thing we show to the world day in and day out. It is where we show people how we are feeling both inside and out.
We spend hundreds of pounds each year on face creams and potions hoping to slow down the aging process, but we are often disappointed with the results. Don’t get me wrong, as a Beauty Therapist I’m a great advocate of a good skincare regime, but I do believe it will take a little bit more than a cream to keep you looking youthful.
Do you know that our face, head and neck have 57 muscles in it? We don’t think twice about going to the gym to work out the muscles of our bodies, but have you ever considered working out the muscles of your face? It stands to reason that if we need to exercise body muscles to tone and define them our face muscles could do with some attention too.
Enter face yoga… by dedicating as little as 10 minutes a day to exercising your face you can start to tone, tighten and strengthen the muscles to bring definition, brightness and reduce lines and wrinkles.
In addition, using massage and acupressure techniques to detoxify the skin and to increase the production of collagen and elastin (the proteins that give the skin its strength and elasticity) will keep your skin looking its very best.
