Our Vision

We have a massive health crisis on our hands with constant reminders that our NHS is on its knees.
There is little research done on alternative treatments – the treatment is always the pharmaceutical one.
We need a system where all healers are recognised – not just ones who prescribe pharmaceuticals.
A system where the patient feels cared for but empowered.
One where we live a long and healthy life not clouded with cancer, dementia or alzheimers.
There is a place for modern medicine, and we are very thankful to have it available to us. We want to preserve our NHS and to do that we need to take a more holistic approach to our bodies.
As always we ask people to do their own research from a variety of sources, including your GP, before making a decision on which approach is best for you.

We love and are very proud of our NHS and want to do everything we can to protect it from privatisation.

However, it was reported in January 2020 that England faces paying out £4.3bn in legal fees to settle outstanding claims of clinical negligence.

Currently the NHS receives more than 10,000 new claims for compensation every year.

This figure includes all current unsettled claims and projected estimates of ones in the future.

Estimates published in 2019 put the total cost of outstanding compensation claims at £83bn.

This shows where we have massive failings in our health system. The devastation for every family who seeks compensation is huge. The service is over-stretched and continually used as a political tool, exasperating many who work in the system.

Every time you buy a prescription the NHS pays a sum of money to the pharmaceutical company who made that drug. Getting a diagnosis from your GP then going home to do your own research instead of using your prescription medication would save the NHS vasts amount of money.

The best way of protecting our NHS is by keeping ourselves as fit and healthy as we possibly can. Please check out our columns on food and body care to see how you can achieve optimal health.

“Let food be thy medicine,” Hippocrates was meant to have said!

Our supermarkets are a shameful example of how far we’ve come from Hippocrates’ way of thinking. Shelves are stacked with processed foods containing sugar, salt and ingredients that most of us can’t even pronounce.

Many of these can cause inflammation in our bodies – leading to a host of health problems.

Returning to a simpler diet with less processed foods, avoiding all sugary cereals and drinks, not supporting any large fast-food corporation and growing our own organic veg can dramatically improve our health.

Foraging is another skill that has been lost over time. Find out who knows about foraging in your local area and ask them to host a walk. You’ll be amazed how much food is in our doorstep. This is also a massive saving on packaging as well. There is no need for tea bags when you can make tea from nettles, mint, sage and other plants often not far from our doorstep.

We used to manage without supermarkets but now we panic if the shelves aren’t fully stocked. It’s just learning how we can return to those times and put a stop to funding corporations who have little care for the animals they package up or the humans that buy them. Getting your food whilst being out with nature is a much more pleasant experience than standing in a supermarket queue as well!

Even if you only start with foraging your own tea it’s a start and one step closer to connecting with nature.

Just as we should make sure everything we eat and drink is free of toxins so should our skincare be analysed to make sure we aren’t putting more toxins in our body that way.

Toothpaste for example contains many products that you wouldn’t want to injest. Many contain palm oil which is best avoided because of the destruction to the natural rain forest in replacement for massive palm tree plantations.

There is more and more evidence to suggest using sunscreen products can increase your chance of getting cancer.

Spending your money on products from smaller producers who don’t test on animals or use harmful ingredients is easily done so long as you know where to shop.

We’ve added a few of our favourite suppliers here but please always do your own research and make your own informed decisions.

Health matters

Cancer, Diabetes/Alzheimers and heart disease are the three biggest killers in the UK. Many doctors are linking these illnesses to food and our environment. What we consume has an enormous impact on our bodies. Processed foods are highly toxic, filled with sugar, salt and other products that we have never even heard of. A potato, egg, strawberry has no ingredients. Keep things simple and our bodies will thrive.

We aren't Doctors but here are some of our favourite ones you may not have come across in the past. If in doubt get a diagnosis from your GP and then decide whether you'd like to explore other options.
